Today I want to make a quick post and share this beautiful birdcage with you. My friend Donna got me this wonderful kit for Christmas and I love it so much! I finally had a chance to put it together a couple of weeks ago, but I still can't decide how I want to finish it. The pieces are so delicate that I was afraid to stain or paint them. I do want to add some sort of finish to it eventually. I am also going to add a hinge to the door (right now it is just propped in there) and I am looking for a bird to put inside. As soon as I get brave enough to finish this piece I will post the results :o) Maybe somebody out there can suggest how I apply a stain without warping the delicate laser-cut details?
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

¡Finísima! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I just finished a small bookshelf made in the same manner. I used Minwax English Chestnut. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Minwax-70044-Interior-English-Chestnut/dp/B001CEMVZA I bought mine at the local Home Depot, though. It didn't warp the wood at all. :]
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece, staining delicate wood like this is difficult maybe a dark wax applied with a small brush may be better,if you have any spare wood of a similar size try experimenting before applying to the piece in question.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cage.
